Beyond designing products, I enjoy engaging in other activities like teaching.
Volunteering at HackYourFuture
Between 2020 and 2022 I collaborated with HackYourFuture Belgium, a coding bootcamp for people that have limited access to education and the labor market, most of them refugees. I co-teached the 1st module, Intro to UX Design and hosted a few mentoring sessions.
Teacher assistant & mentor at Ironhack
From 2018 to 2019, I mentored UX students embarking on their careers or upskilling their abilities. In addition to providing individual guidance and project support, I facilitated an engaging learning environment. Since we had 7 hour classes on Saturdays, we started a tradition of collaborative breakfast gatherings. Students formed self-organized groups, fostering teamwork and shared responsibility for tasks and logistics. This cultivated a sense of community while developing essential collaborative skills (and gave us the energy to keep up!)
Before I started doing product design in 2016, I had a long successful career in website and visual design, winning several awards for my work
I have designed more than 40 websites winning 21 awards. These include Gold and Silver honors at the Communicator Awards, Gold and Silver distinctions at the W3 Awards, and two Silver wins at the Horizon Interactive Awards, among other notable achievements. These websites were mostly for clients in the hospitality and travel industry and I worked on them between 2013 and 2016.
Here are some design concepts I created in 2015 for Ibiza Bay, which were presented in a design pitch and helped secure them as a client.
